The World Woof Cup, Week 2: The Missing Trophy
Why enrichment? Enrichment gives dogs an outlet for their natural instincts (sniffing, searching, solving) and works their brain, not just their legs. A few minutes of sniff-and-search or puzzle work takes real effort, so dogs go home happily tired: body exercised, brain satisfied, confidence a little bigger. How our enrichment works
In week 2 of the soccer-themed World Woof Cup (June 2026), Metro Animals daycare dogs in Fort Worth and Plano used scent work to sniff out hidden soccer balls and clues in a stadium set, plus sideline mini games.
Barksville had just pulled off a successful opening ceremony when disaster struck: the coveted Jack Russell Trophy vanished. Had someone moved it somewhere for safekeeping, or was it foul play? A search committee was formed, and our All-Stars joined the hunt.
The investigation
The World Woof Cup stadium is a big place, so there were plenty of nooks and crannies to sniff through. Then things got stranger: the soccer balls started going missing too. The team sniffed out every one of them, and the trail led them to more clues.
Along the way, every dog showed off a different strength. Some were lightning fast, others brought sharp focus and problem-solving, and a few proved they were born leaders. Helping each dog discover and build on those strengths is what we love most at Metro Animals.
This week’s menu
- The Trophy Investigation Search — with the trophy stolen, the dogs begin their first true investigation.
- The Sensory Sweep — the environment is subtly altered into different “search zones.”
- The Hidden Ball Problem — working with the most important object in the game: the ball.
- The Sideline Mini Games — warm-ups on the sidelines, working closely with a handler.
- The Goalkeeper Reaction Drill — reacting quickly to whatever happens right in front of them.

Here are a few of our investigators, in Fort Worth and Plano, hard at work.

How to join the next adventure
Enrichment is an add-on to any daycare day at Metro Animals — ask for it at drop-off, by the day, the week or the whole month. It’s part of the program that earned us the highest score in the country at the 2024 Dog Gurus Daycare Games. Read more about how our enrichment works, and if your pup is new to the pack, find your nearest location — every new dog’s first day is free.
It’s a great day to play!
