The Lost City of Puplantis, Week 4: The Tide Turns
Why enrichment? Enrichment gives dogs an outlet for their natural instincts (sniffing, searching, solving) and works their brain, not just their legs. A few minutes of sniff-and-search or puzzle work takes real effort, so dogs go home happily tired: body exercised, brain satisfied, confidence a little bigger. How our enrichment works
In week 4 of the under-the-sea theme The Lost City of Puplantis (May 2026), Metro Animals daycare dogs in Fort Worth and Plano wove through ocean currents, played in scented bubble fields, and climbed rock formations for balance and agility.
With the Sacred Sea Bone recovered, the journey changed course. The focus moved from searching to exploring, and the dogs roamed Puplantis freely, moving between the ancient ruins of its libraries, meeting places and rejuvenating spaces. For a week they got to feel what life in the city would have been like: balanced, fulfilling and shared.
As the celebrations unfolded, the final truth settled in. Puplantis doesn’t need to be rebuilt, and the Sacred Sea Bone doesn’t need guarding, because balance doesn’t live in cities or objects. It lives in how dogs are allowed to be. That’s what the dogs of Barksville took back with them: a deeper trust in instinct, a renewed sense of fulfillment, and the understanding that true enrichment isn’t something you find. It’s something you practice every day.

On the week 4 menu
- Around the Reef Reward — patience and circumnavigation, like finding a way through a coral reef.
- Underwater Drift Curtains — sensory awareness inspired by the soft movements of the sea.
- Tentacle Touch Target — responding to clear cues.
- Storytime Beneath the Waves — a story about listening to your instincts, echoing the tale of the city.
- Barnacle Balance Bash — confidence and balance on the barnacle-covered docks of Puplantis.
The last days under the sea
The explorers ducked, dove and wove through the ocean currents, and Lelu felt right at home, heading straight into the waves. The sea creatures of Puplantis had plenty of history to share, and the jelly bubble fields helped the group grow more confident around moving objects while scented bubbles engaged their senses. To start the journey back up to the surface, the dogs climbed rock formations and reefs, challenging their balance and agility as they were guided through the course. Luna gave her enrichment two paws up.
Behind the sea-themed decor were real sensory details: dehydrated fish skin treats, real shells and barnacles from Florida’s beaches, and ocean and whale sound machines. Over in Plano, Shasta loved the Puplantis activities too.

How to join the next adventure
Enrichment is an add-on to any daycare day at Metro Animals — ask for it at drop-off, by the day, the week or the whole month. It’s part of the program that earned us the highest score in the country at the 2024 Dog Gurus Daycare Games. Read more about how our enrichment works, and if your pup is new to the pack, find your nearest location — every new dog’s first day is free.
It’s a great day to play!
